FAQs About Foods

What is podi and how do I use it?

Podi is a traditional South Indian spice powder made by roasting and grinding lentils, spices and other ingredients. Our podi varieties, such as Idli Podi, Sambar Podi and Rasa Podi, are best enjoyed mixed with a little sesame oil or ghee and served with idli, dosa, rice or as a quick side.

How should I store the podi, pickles and masala powders?

Store podi and masala powders in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to keep them fresh and flavourful for longer. Pickles should also be kept in a dry, airtight jar, and we recommend using a clean, dry spoon each time and refrigerating after opening to extend their shelf life.

How long do your products stay fresh?

Our podi and masala powders typically stay fresh for several months when stored properly in an airtight container away from moisture and direct sunlight. Pickles have a longer shelf life thanks to traditional preparation methods. Please check the packaging on each product for specific best-before guidance.

What products do you currently offer?

We currently offer a range of traditional South Indian podi (spice powders) such as Idli Podi, Sambar Podi, Rasa Podi, Kobbari Podi and Poondu Podi, along with masala mixes and pickles, all made using authentic, homestyle recipes.
